We announced our support for the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in April 2022. In addition to disclosing information related to climate change in accordance with the recommendations, we will help realize a sustainable society by working to alleviate climate change and reduce environmental impacts, both of which are global priorities, through our continued business activities.
Disclosure based on TCFD recommendations
In November, 2006, TAKUMA CO., LTD. joined the United Nations Global Compact, pledging to adhere to universal principles covering human right, labor right, the environment and anti-Corruption. The Global Compact is a voluntary corporate citizenship initiative proposed by then-U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 1999 at the world Economic Forum. Our company practices a social contribution through the active conduct of business in support of the ten principles.
UN Global Conpact
This index, which was created by FTSE Russell to reflect the performance of Japanese companies from various sectors with a comparatively exceptional track record in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), is designed to be sector-neutral. To encourage the transition to a low-carbon economy, inclusion of companies with high greenhouse gas emissions is limited to those entities whose improvement efforts have been favorably evaluated based on the TPI management quality score.
This index, which takes the Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) as calculated and announced by the Tokyo Stock Exchange as its universe, focuses on the disclosure of environmental information and carbon efficiency (carbon emissions per unit of sales) in determining the weighting of included shares.
