Our history began with the development and manufacture of boilers.
In 1912, our founder Tsunekichi Takuma invented the TAKUMA boiler, which became the first boiler to be purely a domestic product manufactured in Japan. The TAKUMA boiler outperformed the foreign-made boilers of the time and earned an outstanding reputation worldwide.

Since our founding, we have polished our combustion and heat recovery technologies, and today we supply various products, particularly plants that efficiently incinerate a variety of materials and recover heat, including muncipal solid waste, sewage sludge, and wood fuel.

TAKUMA is a small company, but we are proud to have cultivated world-class technological capability and expertise through our many years of experience and extensive track record as a manufacturer specializing in the environmental and energy fields. A highly experienced staff that has mastered these technologies and expertise proposes optimal facilities and plants that meet our customers wishes.

STRENGTH2 Delivering highly satisfying service through long, deep dialog with customers
Since the plants we deliver are required to operate as infrastructure for two or three decades, it's important to develop a plan that envisions a variety of future developments from the initial stage. To ensure customers can utilize our facilities efficiently and with confidence over the long term, we participate in a detailed dialog with customers about their plans for 1, 5, 10, and 20 years in the future and beyond and apply what we learn to every process, from the start of the planning process to design, construction, maintenance, and operation management so that we can provide facilities and services that will satisfy customers on an ongoing basis.

The stability of the financial base of the company that will be responsible for after-sales service, including maintenance and operation management, is also a critical factor in determining whether customers will be able to utilize their plants with a sense of security over the long term. Our capital adequacy ratio of 51.8% (as of March 31, 2020) indicates the stability of our management, illustrating that we can support customers on an ongoing basis.
